The Motus Story

Motus Imaging Solutions was originally conceived as a drone based imaging company for asset inspections and vegetation management around power lines in Australia. Our client partnerships have been a key part of our development trajectory, as the clients pose the interesting questions and we hunt for the appropriate solutions.

In response to client demand, Motus Aerial Solutions expanded to Motus Imaging Solutions in 2022 providing done, submersible ROV (underwater drone) and ground based imaging solutions to the United Kingdom as well as Australia. Motus has added software analytics capabilities appropriate for each commercial segment served.

Our team has also grown with our clients and we now provide national and international digital imaging services. We value diverse industry backgrounds, to ensure we can respond to each client circumstance appropriately. We leverage diverse technical skills, from photographers, to videographers, to ex commercial pilots, all the way through to senior design engineers. Our technical team is supported by the business development team; drawn from finance, software and sports industries.

The Motus Team

Built from a diverse range of industries, leveraging a range of experience and qualifications for our clients benefit. This includes drone pilots on a national and international basis (avoids border restrictions during Covid), photographers and videographers.

Certified Drone Operators

Our chief remote pilot has achieved the AVI30316 Certificate III in Remote Aviation, the highest qualification available within the sub 25kg multirotor (UAS/RPAS) industry. All of our drone pilots hold a remote pilot’s license (GVC & RePL), 25kg endorsement, aeronautical radio operators’ certificate and have extensive knowledge of UAS (unmanned aircraft systems) and the payloads.

These qualifications allow Motus to apply for permits from the CAA, CASA & governing bodies to fly in restricted areas, allowing us to deliver a service others cannot.

Without a GVC, remote pilot’s license & operators’ certificates, drone pilots are not permitted commercially to operate drones greater than 2kg, which limits the technologies that can be utilised and also the locations available to fly.

Risk Management

A core value at Motus is to operate a safety-first mandate. Clients can contract Motus for projects, safe in the knowledge the company is fully accredited, and thus able to meet stringent contractual obligations for a wide range of situations

Motus retains a high level public liability insurance, giving customers peace of mind & confidence.

Consideration of the environment is treated with utmost importance. All of Motus Imaging operational objectives encompass a zero harm policy to ensure the ecosystems we work within do not sustain any negative impacts during the course of our activities.
